Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a traditional yoga system taught and practiced to improve health and wellness by promoting balance throughout the body and mind.
Yoga teaches us how to quiet our busy minds and return our focused attention inward while moving mindfully into and out of stillness. Stress relief, improved flexibility, increased strength and balance are just the beginning of the benefits yoga practice can bring to your daily life.
During yoga class several asanas, or postures, are taught in a systematic way to encourage and gradually develop a balance between strength and flexibility. Connecting this exercise with the breath cultivates a deeper sense of personal inner awareness and relaxation.
Safety is of primary importance in studying and practicing yoga. It is important to study with a qualified yoga instructor that will teach a technique and method that will encourage a safe and effective practice.
If you have any concerns about injuries or personal limitation, call for a consultation. Yoga can be modified to accommodate most people.
Yoga is practiced while standing, sitting and lying on the floor.

Healing Qigong - Tai Chi
Qigong is a ancient healing system of breathing and gentle movement exercises that originated in China many centuries ago.
Sometime called moving meditation, qigong exercise combines slow and gentle movements with the natural rhythm of the breath to improve health and wellness.
Related to Tai Chi Chuan practice, qigong practice works on opening the meridian channels, (the channels that life energy flows through in the body based on the Chinese Medicine Model). When the energy channels in the body are cleared out of blockages, new life energy- chi, begins to flow through the body creating a greater sense of health and internal balance.
Qigong and tai chi are practiced while standing. Ages 14 and up are welcome. If you have any questions about your ability to practice, please call to speak with the instructor.
